Back to factory settings. This is a little term we use to indicate there is only so much change our systems will allow before we are bumped back to our origins and how we are made. The scope of change we can accomplish is a matter of who we are at our core.
There is nothing we can do about who we are in the deepest reaches of our unconscious. No matter how we would like to change in order to please others. We can only expand on something we already have within. We can explore, we can grow, but we cannot change our singular nature without the torment of self betrayal.
I take comfort in the fact that I am who I am. I can wander from the path, and experience new things, but I must return to who I truly am before I loose sight of myself completely.
If you have wandered too far, if you have lost sight, then it is time to stop listening to others. It is time to return to your heart and remember your origins. Remember your passions, and remember what you admired within, without any outside criticism.
I say to you all that this is the way I was made, from the beginning. Perhaps you will like the table I set, perhaps not, and that is okay with me. This is what I have to offer.
